Packaging Specialists, Inc. Southwest (PSI) has been a leading manufacturer of protective packaging systems for over 40 years. We provide quality engineered products to the leading industrial manufacturers throughout the Southwestern United States.

Our goal is to insure that we deliver a good, usable product that is in compliance with the customer specifications, our manufacturing specifications and is made from raw materials that conform to stated specifications.

History:

Packaging Specialists Inc. Southwest has been serving Arizona since 1976. PSI began operations out of a 10,000-sq. ft. building in Central Phoenix. Customers including IBM, Honeywell, Garrett Industries and Digital Equipment Corporation depended on PSI for innovative ways to provide cost effective packaging solutions for Manufacturers in the growing market of Phoenix.

In 1986 PSI moved into a 60,000-sq. ft. facility in South Phoenix. The facility provided the space for the increased customer base raw materials as well as manufacturing, assembly and finished goods. This facility remained home for 26 years. PSI continued to create packaging solutions for many customers in Aerospace, Defense, Electronics and Semi-Conductor industries. In April of 2008, Hadley Capital and Patrick Coveney purchased the company and took over operations under the name PSI Holding Co. The company still operates under its original name. In October of 2008 PSI added a 200 ton die cutter to help with the high demand for die cut foam parts in the market. In June of 2010 PSI added a CNC Machine to eliminate contamination of foam particulates in clean room operations. PSI also added a Heavy-Duty Designator for recycling foam scrap. This machine works non-stop at recycling scrap from millions of board feet of Polyethylene business run over PSI die cutters.

In December of 2012, Packaging Specialists Inc. Southwest moved into a larger facility with more power for manufacturing and more space. Our new 107,000 sq. ft. home is located at 5320 West Buckeye in Phoenix. With our new space, we now have the capability to provide extensive VMI and JIT programs for our customers as well as fulfillment and logistics to the fast-paced world of global manufacturing. We now serve Defense, Electronics, Semi-Conductor, Aerospace, Cosmetics, Packaging Distribution and Solar Industries proudly. Green initiatives are growing in the manufacturing sectors and PSI looks to be a leader in design and engineering of “Earth Friendly” packaging solutions.

In 2017, PSI merged with Packaging Concepts & Design or “PC&D.” PC&D is located in Troy Michigan. They have been in business since 1914 are the leader in integrated designs and solutions for the automotive industry. PSI plans to add more machinery and equipment as we grow with our customers into the 21st century. We understand cost concerns and look to be the most trusted manufacturer of innovative packaging designs, specializing in quality and reliability along the way.
